GORDON, WALTER JOSEPH SR

Walter Joseph Gordon Sr., died 1951 in Albany, He was a native of Horse Bluff 
and a resident of Albany.  Mr. Gordon was a retired stave maker and farmer.

Interment was in James Chapel Cemetery in Holden.

Mr. Gordon was survived by his wife, Deloris “Sukky” Redding Gordon; four 
daughters and two sons-in-law, Mrs. Eva Gordon, Mrs. Ollie McCarroll, Mrs. 
Marguerite “Maggie” Kinchen and Melton Kinchen, and Marie McAlister and Brent 
McAlister; three sons and daughters-in-law, Arthur Hillary and Beatrice 
McMorris Gordon, Walter Joseph Jr., and Effie McCarroll Gordon, and Willie 
Frankie and Bessie McAlister Gordon; three sisters, Nettie, Mary and Elva 
Gordon; four brothers, Oscar, Joseph, George and Preston Gordon.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John “Jack” Gordon and Mary Catherine 
Victoria Smiley Gordon; his grandparents, John C. and Margaret Houvre Keller; 
his paternal great grandparents Francis Keller and Margaret Houvre and 
maternal grandfather, Joseph Smiley.
