She was a member of the Catholic Daughters, Altar Society and choir at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and a lifetime member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Visitation was held at Wilbert Funeral Home in Plaquemine on Wednesday, June 4, 2009 and resumed on Thursday, June 5, 2009 until Mass of Christian Burial with interment in Grace Memorial Park. A daughter and son-in-law, four sons and daughters-in-law, a son-in-law, a brother, three sisters, 17 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren survive her. Preceding her in death was her husband, Mervin B. “Doc” Gourgues; two children, Shirley Gourgues Zito and Michael Gourgues; great-grandson, Matthew Jude Gourgues; her parents, Andrew Paul and Laura Badeaux Tullier; two sisters, Laura Hebert and Eva Mae Flood; and five brothers, Gene, Roland, Ambrose, Ignace and James Tullier.
