GREEN, KATHERINE “KAT” STEWART

Katherine “Kat” Stewart Green 82 of Holden died Monday, Dec 28, 2009 at Belle 
Maison Nursing Home.  She was a member of Holden Baptist Church.  “Maw Kat” 
began her career at the Holden School cafeteria in 1965 as a server and became 
a manager by 1972.  She dedicated her time for the next 20 years to the 
students of Holden until her retirement in 1992.  Mrs. Green not only fed the 
students but also loved whenever needed.  

Visitation was held at Holden Baptist Church in Holden on Wednesday, Dec 30, 
2009 and resumed on Thursday, Dec 31, 2009 until religious services at 10 am 
with interment in Courtney Cemetery.

Her son and daughter-in-law, two daughters and sons-in-law, six grandchildren 
and their spouses, and 12 great-grandchildren survive her.

Preceding her in death was her husband, Lee Wilson Green; two sisters, Eva 
Stewart and Ethel Kinchen; and six brothers, Brutus, Ike, Lloyd, Willis, Reed, 
and Hannon Stewart.
