He was a native of Alexandria and he served 30 years with the US Air Force and the federal civil service. He served in the Korean War and was honorably discharged as a tech sergeant at his retirement in 1976. He was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Biloxi MS. He was a friendly outgoing man who never met a stranger and loved telling and hearing good jokes. He had a wonderful sense of humor and had a love of fine automobiles, country music and animals. Through his military career he traveled around the world. Visitation was held at Hixson Funeral Home in Pineville on Sunday Jan 17, 2010 and resumed at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Pineville on Monday, Jan 18, 2010 until Mass of Christian Burial with interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Pineville. His wife, four sons and two daughters-in-law, a daughter and son-in-law, eight grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren survive him. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Jillie Hardee and Edith McGlothin Hardee; and four brothers, Joe Pleasant, John Pleasant, Donald Hardee, and James Hardee; and a sister, June Hardee Bynog.
