He was born Oct 11, 1925 and served in the US Army during World War II in Germany. He was a member of Live Oak United Methodist Church in Watson. Visitation was held at Live Oak United Methodist Church of Friday until the services with interment in Live Oak Methodist Church Cemetery in Watson. His wife of 61 years, two sons and daughters-in-law, a daughter and son-in- law, six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and a sister survives him. Preceding him in death were his parents, Lafayette Sr., and Belva Galloway Harris; five brothers, Houston, Carew Sr., Nolan, Preston and Lloyd Harris; two sisters, Myrtle McMorris and Leola Orr; and special buddy and nephew, L. G. McMorris. The family requested that memorial donations be made to Live Oak United Methodist Church or Alzheimer’s Services of Baton Rouge.
