Dustin Blake Hartley of City of Central, LA passed away at his home on June 
29, 2014 after a long illness. He was 32 years old. Although confined to a 
wheelchair for the last 21 years, no man ever stood taller or fought harder 
than Dustin. He was a great man with a big heart full of love and affection 
for his family. He was a joy and a blessing to know and an honor given to his 
parents. 

He is survived by his parents, Gene and Renee Nichols Hartley; two brothers, 
Chad Hartley and Brandon Hartley, both of Covington, LA; a sister and brother-
in-law, Bryan and Regena Landry; grandparents, Rodin and Hazel Nichols; nieces 
and nephews, Austin, Leah and Blake Landry, Cassidy, Chloe, Colby and 
Catherine Hartley, and Courtney Lemons. 

Visitation will be at Greenwell Springs Baptist Church from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. 
on Tuesday, July 1, 2014. Visitation will resume on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at 
Greenwell Springs Baptist Church at 10 a.m., followed by funeral at 11 a.m., 
officiated by Dr. Jeff Meyers. 

Pallbearers will be Derek and Derin Bonner, Willie and Chance Turner, Kyle 
Nichols and Gerald Ray. Honorary pallbearers will be Sean Turner and Josh 
Forbes. 

To honor Dustin's love for music, memorial donations may be made to the 
Greenwell Springs Baptist Church music ministry. 

A special thank you to his caregiver of 9 years, Jennifer Thompson. She was 
like a second mom to him. Also Joe Daigle, Mark Wilson, Matthew Pi, Inyang 
Isemin, LaTarsha Smith and Dr. Williams Hines. 

Preceded in death by his grandparents, John Hartley and Charlene Elrod Nichols
