Mavis Holden

 Age 68 and a resident of Holden, Mavis went home to her Lord and Savior Jesus 
Christ on Tuesday, June 17, 2014. She was a member of St. James Baptist Church 
in Holden and a loving, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and 
friend.
 
Mavis leaves behind her daughters, Cheryl Stewart and fiancé John Paul 
Thibodeaux, Lisa Dunnington and husband Richard, along with her grandchildren, 
Courtney Stewart, Caitlynn McReynolds, Martin Buckner, Jr., Thomas and David 
Buckner; great-grandchildren, Preston, Ethan and Kacey Buckner. She is also 
survived by her brother, Jessie Benny Lambert; dear 1st cousin, Ruth Green; 
caretaker, Peggy Perry, as well as, numerous nieces and nephews. 

Preceding Mavis in death were her husband, Olah Holden; sister, Rosie Skelton; 
parents, Leo Jesse and Alma Kirby Lambert.
 
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the religious 
service at St. James Baptist Church in Holden on Thursday, June 19, 2014 at 
12:00 p.m., with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Rev. Tex Guidry will 
officiate the services and interment will follow in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Brandon G. Thompson 
Funeral Home, c/o Mavis Holden Memorial Fund, 12012 Hwy 190 West-Hammond, LA 
70403.

The family would like to thank the District 10 First Responders and the 
medical personnel for their service and helping Mrs. Mavis Holden.
