Jones Sr., Simmie Rip 
A resident of Holden, he died at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2007, at Our Lady
of the Lake Regional Medical Center. He was 91 and a native of Satsuma.
Religious service at Mangum Chapel United Methodist Church, Satsuma, at 2 p.m.
Thursday, Feb. 22, conducted by Paul Jones and Rick LeDoux. Interment in Mangum
Cemetery. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Jeanette C. Jones; daughter,
Jeannie White; three sons, Kelly Ray Jones, Simmie Rip Jones Jr. and Justin
Douglas Wascom; sister, Rosalie Soileau; 12 grandchildren, 18
great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by
his first wife, Lillie Mizell Jones; daughter, Annie Ruth Jones; sisters, Lillie
McLin and Anniwees Covington; and brothers, Allen, Herbert and John Jones.
Honorary pallbearers are Dub Whitehead, Phillip Hoover, Curtis Jones and Byron
Bankston. Arrangements by Renaissance Services Inc., Gonzales.
