WILBARD Rev. Dr. Wilbard Jones died Saturday, Feb 27, 2010 in New Orleans. He was a native and resident of Springfield. He was the pastor of Greater St. james Missionary Baptist Church in Tickfaw and Zion Travelers Missionary Baptist Church in Independence. He was a member of Cornerstone Association, Louisiana Hone and Foreign Mission and the Mississippi Gospel Bowl. He worked in the heating and air-conditioning business for over 35 years and was the owner of America’s Air. Visitation was held at Zion Travelers Missionary Baptist Church in Independence on Friday from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. and resumed at Greater St. James Missionary Baptist Church from 3 p.m. until 5:30 p.m., a wake followed at Mount Vernon Missionary Baptist Church in Hammond and a religious service was held on Saturday, Mary 6, 2010 at 10 a.m. at Mount Vernon Missionary Baptist Church with interment in Holly Gardens Cemetery in Hammond. His wife, a daughter, two sons, two sisters, two brothers, his mother-in-law and a host of other relatives survive him. MJR Friendly Service Funeral Home of Denham Springs handled arrangements.
