KIGER, RUSSELL C. “TREY” III

Russell C. “Trey” Kiger III 38 of Baton Rouge died Friday, April 9, 2010 along
with his cousin Jacob Kiger in an automobile accident.  He was native of Denham
Springs and was a Baton Rouge Police Officer and a former Livingston Parish
sheriff’s deputy. He loved to saltwater fish, hunt and ride motorcycles.  He was
devoted to his family often going to the camp to spend time with his nephews and
cousins.  He was a member of the Baton Rouge Police Union, the Blue Knights and
Krewe of Poseidon.  He earned the honor of Top Gun while he was a Livingston
Parish Deputy.  During his service with the sheriff’s office, he was an active
member of the SRT Team, a Field Training Officer (FTO), a range officer, and
their diver.

Visitation was held at The Voice of Pentecost Church in Greenwell Springs on
Monday, April 12, 2010 and resumed on Tuesday, April 13, 2010 until the
religious services conducted by Detective Greg Fairbanks; chaplain, with
interment in was in Evergreen Memorial Park in Denham Springs.

His wife, his father, his mother, a stepdaughter, an expected son, two sisters
and a brother-in-law, and five nephews survive him.

Preceding him in death were his grandparents, Russell C. Kiger Sr., and Charlene
G. Kiger, Lottie B. Palmer and Melvin Palmer; an uncle, Charles Patrick Kiger;
and an aunt Jo-Anne Kiger.
