She was a native of Livingston Parish where she was born on Jan 29, 1911. She and her twin were part of a large family and spent their early years on their papa’s farm. At the age of about 4 they lost their mother to tuberculosis, then spent their older years in a children’s home in New Orleans. Grace graduated from Albany High School as valedictorian in 1930. She then married her husband of 59 years on May 23, 1934. They lived in 17 different states. Her husband died in February of 1993. Visitation was held at Harry McKneely and Son Funeral Home in Hammond on Friday, Nov 20, 2009 from 6 pm until 9 pm. Visitation continued on Saturday, Nov 21. 2009 at Old Zion Hill Baptist Church from 8 am until time of the service with interment in Old Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. A daughter and son-in-law, three grandchildren and their spouses, six great- grandchildren, survive her. Preceding her in death was her husband, David T.
