He was a very devoted charter member of the Masonic Lodge 466 in Albany with 58 years of service. Norman proudly served our country in the US Army during WWII and was a member of the Millwright Local 720. He was also a self-employed logger and one of the very first to be a Louisiana State Trooper. Visitation was held at Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home in Baptist on Saturday Jan 3, 2009 from 9 am until the service at 11 am with a Masonic service at 10 am. Interment followed in Old Zion Baptist Church Cemetery north of Albany. His loving wife of 65 years, two sons and daughters-in-law, one daughter and son-in-law, seven grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, 11 great- grandchildren, sister, a brother, and numerous nieces and nephews survives him. He was preceded in death by his son, Donnie Kinchen; parents, Mary and Edward "Ed" Kinchen; siblings, Arthur, Elezy, Coy Oscar and Idell Kinchen. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Albany Masonic Lodge 466, P.O. Box 466 Albany La 70711. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brandon G.
