Betty was born on May 30, 1938, in Hammond. She was a member of Victory Baptist Church, a caretaker to many, and joyfully spent her life working, cooking, and loving her friends and family. Betty showed her children and grandchildren the love of Jesus. She is survived by a daughter Diedra “Dee Dee” Milton and husband Darien; sons, Geza Kovach and Michael Kovach and wife Sherri; daughter-in-law, Brenda Kovach; brothers and sister, Faye, Frank, Dub, Bobby, PT and Mary; grandchildren, Trina, Krystal, Patrick, Derek, Lacey, Rachel, Justin, Jacob and Jock; great grandchildren, Brett, Kalyn, Hunter, Madalyn, Aiden, Little Geza, Jenley, Abedn, Boaz, Jachin, Raamiah, Allie, Jake, Caden, and Gabriel; and one great-great granddaughter, Macey She is preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Kovach; parents, Leonard Harper and Louisa Bailey Harper; son, Winston Kovach; grandchildren, Geza Kovach, Jr. and Lindsey Kovach; brothers and sisters, Ray Harper, Linda Starkey, John Harper, and Tina Lard. Visitation will be held at Harry McKneely & Son in Hammond on Friday, December 21, 2018, from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm. Visitation will resume at Victory Baptist Church, 43385 N. Little Italy Road in Hammond on Saturday at 9:00 am, until funeral services at 11:00 am, by her Pastor, Jonathan Watts. Interment will immediately follow at the Hungarian Presbyterian Cemetery in Albany. The family also wanted to give a special thanks to caregiver Stacie Crain, and New Century Hospice nurses, Garnett Brignac and Tracie Robinson.
