LAIRD, JAMES CARROLL III

James Carroll Laird III 19 died Saturday, May 16, 2009 as the result of a 
tragic car accident.  He was born on April 24, 1990.  Beautiful from birth, 
his perfect smile soon drew to him a host of friends. He enjoyed all sports, 
playing basketball and football for Denham Springs Junior and Freshman High 
School. His favorite position was free safety, and he was No. 9, a number and 
position his younger brother, now holds at Live Oak Middle School. James was 
an 8th grade graduate of St. Stanislaus College and 2008 high school graduate 
of Parkview Baptist School. James was an avid fisherman and hunter, shooting 
an eight-point buck with his grandfather's gun on Dec. 26, 2002. He loved the 
outdoors, he loved his truck, he loved his friends, he loved his family, and a 
true child of God, and he loved his heavenly Father. 

Visitation was held at Seale Funeral Home in Denham Springs on Tuesday, May 
19, 2009 and resumed on Wednesday, May 20, 2009 until services with entombment 
in Evergreen Memorial Park in Denham Springs.

His father, his mother and stepfather, a sister, a brother, a half sister, two 
stepsiblings, maternal grandparents, paternal grandparents, his godparents, 
and numerous aunts, uncles, special cousins, a nephew, three “blood brothers”, 
and a special friend survive him.

Preceding him in death was a cousin, Alana Burnett; and a friend, Garrett 
Worthington
