He was a 29 year veteran with the Baton Rouge Police Department, achieving the rank of Captain. Capt. Lively was a certified forensic computer examiner, board member of HT-CIA and founder of the Department’s Computer Crimes Division, which he commanded for the past seven years. He had served on several state, regional, and federal investigative task forces. He also help to train many forensic computer examiners in the area. He spent many years in the Street Crimes and Crime Scene Investigative Unit and was past state president of the Louisiana Division International Association for Identification. He was a member of St. John’s Methodist Church on Highland Rd, where he was senior high Sunday School teacher. Allen was a member of the Lagniappe Country Walk to Emmaus, He loved to fish, take pictures and go to LSU football games. Visitation was at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Sunday, Oct 11, 2009 and Monday, Oct 12, 2009 at St John’s Methodist Church until funeral services with interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park. His wife of 27 years, a daughter, two sons, three sisters and a brother-in- law, nieces and nephews and other extended family members survives him. The Lagniappe Country Emmaus Community will also miss him.
