Maier, Chester F. “Chet”

Chester F. “Chet” Maier, died July 25, 2009 at his residence.  He was 93 years 
and 11 months old, a foster parent and retired banker.  Mr. Maier was a native 
of Bronx NY and a resident of Colyell for the past 23 years.

Visitation was at Cornerstone Church, Livingston.

His wife; four daughters; three sons, eight grandchildren; a nephew and a 
cousin survive him.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Ferdinand Maier and Florence Rae 
Maier and a sister, Florence Biele.

He attended Fordham University in New York.  He was a foster/adoptive parent 
for 40 years to 163 children, and a founding member of Cornerstone Christian 
Assembly, Livingston.  

He was Foster Parent of the year in 1988 in the Baton Rouge region, recognized 
by the For Kids Sake organization and listed in the Congressional Record in 
Washington, DC, on April 11, 1988.  

In lieu of flowers donations were requested made to Cornerstone Cemetery.
