She was 89 and a native of Pine Grove. She retired from St. Helena Parish Hospital where she was the hospital dietitian. Visitation was at Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs, on Monday and Tuesday until funeral service in the chapel, conducted by Dr. Dennis Johnsey. Graveside services followed in Pine Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery, conducted by the Rev. Phillip McDaniel. She was preceded in death by her parents, Nettie and Luther Westmoreland; husband, Shelton D. “Shorty” McDaniel; and sister, Mona Mae Jenkins. She is survived by her children, Rickie McDaniel Sibley and husband Bobby of Watson, and Barry McDaniel and wife Kay of Baton Rouge; grandchildren, Cody Sibley, Ladonna Sibley Belzer and husband Brian, Richie Sibley, Michael McDaniel and Waid McDaniel; great-grandchildren, Kaelan Sibley, Xandie Belzer, Ashley Brown, Meghan Brown and Lauren Sibley. She was a member of Pine Grove United Methodist Church and a 1939 graduate of Pine Grove High School. The family would like to express a special thanks to St. Francis House Adult Daycare, Lakewood Quarters Nursing Center and Generations Hospice for their care of Mawmaw.
