She was a native of Slidell and was with the Louisiana Department of Tourism during the 1984 World’s Fair. In the late 1960s she was the head seamstress at Gus Mayers in Beaumont, TX and was a member of the Apple Pie Ridge Homemakers and Pokeno club. A memorial service was held at Slidell First United Methodist Church. Two daughters, two sons, a brother, nine grandchildren, and eight great- grandchildren survive her. Her husband, Herbert James McGrath Sr.; her parents, Henry Robert Taylor Sr., and Zelma Taylor; a son, Herbert James McGrath Jr.; and a sister, Bessie Taylor Trojack, preceded her in death.
