Novelle W. Milton 88 of Denham Springs died on Monday June 8, 2009 at her home. She was a native of Pear Valley TX and a former longtime resident of Walker. She was a member of Walker Baptist Church and a former bookkeeper for Ed Revel and upon retirement she began her second career as a seamstress and quilt maker. In her later years she became a foster grandparent for South Walker Elementary. Visitation was held at Seale Funeral Home in Denham Springs on Thursday, june 10, 2009 from 1 pm until service at 3 pm with interment in Walker Baptist Church Cemetery in Walker. Two sons and a daughter-in-law, a sister, a brother and sister-in-law, 18 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews survive her. Preceding her in death were her parents, Thomas C. and Lessie Belle Elliot Weldon, her first husband, John L. Slaughter Sr.; her second husband, Morris S. Milton; a daughter, Waunice Sims; a grandson, Ricky Stevens; and three brothers, James Franklin “Tex,” Thomas C. Jr. and Eugene Weldon.
