He was the retired owner of Mitchell Equipment. He was a veteran of the Korean War having served in the US Marines with two years of service. He was a native of Baton Rouge. Visitation was held at Resthaven Funeral Home in Baton Rouge on Saturday, July 17, 210 until the religious service. His wife of 53 years, four daughters and sons-in-law; a son and daughter-in- law; and 11 grandchildren survive him. Preceding him in death were his parents, John and Virginia Mitchell; and a asister and brother-in-law, Patsy and Wally Kohfeldt. In lieu of flowers the family requested that donations be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
