Charles B. Mixon died at his home in Gresham OR at 12:15 a.m. Sunday, Feb 14, 2010 after a long battle with cancer. He was born in Baton Rouge, LA on Sept 26, 1949 and was a 1967 graduate of Denham Springs High School. In the summer of 1967 he move to Osyka with his parents. He attended Southeastern Louisiana University and upon his graduation he joined the US Air Force where he proudly served his country. After leaving the Air Force he moved to Portland where he met the loves of his life. At the time of his illness he and a friend were filming a cooking show for television. He was a retired salesman and a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church. Church services were held at Covenant Presbyterain Church in Gresham, OR and was buried in Willamette National Cemetery in Portland OR. He had a military funeral. His wife of 30 years, a stepson and daughter-in-law, two grandchildren, two sisters, a brother and sister-in-law, a niece and her husband, two nephews, two grandnieces, and an aunt on his mother’s side survives him. Preceding him in death were his parents, W.B. Mixon Jr., and Alyene Mixon; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Thomas, and Mr. and Mrs. W.B. Mixon Sr.; a nephew, Gary Sanders; and two brothers-in-law, Charles “Buzz” Sanders, and Dr. James R. Pearce.
