He was a native of Baton Rouge and a retired from the wholesale grocery business and a veteran of the US Army. Mr. Odom was an accomplished athlete who was inducted into the Baton Rouge High School Hall of Fame and the Southeastern Louisiana University Hall of Fame. He was also named an All-American football player at Southeastern and was named to the All-Time High School Team in 1972 by Baton Rouge sports writers. He was a member of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church. Visitation was held at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East in Baton Rouge on Friday, Jan 8, 2010 from 10 am until the funeral service at noon. A graveside service followed at Woodland Cemetery in Kentwood. A son survives him.
