He was born March 2, 1937. He received his bachelor’s degree (Magna Cum Laude) from St. Benedict’s College Atchison, KS, and his master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Utah. He served in the US military from 1955 until 1972, when he retired as major. He spent six years in Military Intelligence, 10 years in special forces and five years in the 82nd Air Borne, receiving special recognition for valor. After his service in the armed forces, he was assistant controller in accounting and administration at RJR Inc in Winston-Salem NC He was Vice Presidnet and CFO of Vanity Fair in Monroeville, AL. He was also COO at Kellwood in McComb, MS. After moving to Louisiana he was an accounting instructor for the University of South Louisiana. His other teaching positions included adjunct professor at the University of Phoenix in finance courses and NOVA University. He was a member of the United Pentecostal Church in Denham Springs, a contributor to the Richland United Pentecostal Church and the Apostolic Church of Denham Springs He will be remember by his wife’s family for his care of their mother in her last years. Funeral services were held at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Pollack with interment in the O’Quinn Sector of Pleasant Hill Cemetery, adjacent to the church under the direction of Rush Funeral Home of Pineville. His wife; a sister, a daughter, a son, and five grandchildren survive him. Preceding him in death were his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde O’Quinn; and two brothers, Allen and Lloyd O’Quinn.
