She was 91. She was born Aug. 24, 1906, in French Settlement, lived in the New Orleans area for 70 years and resided at Southside Gardens in Baton Rouge for the past 11/2 years. She was a retired licensed registered nurse, graduating from Charity Nursing School in 1926. She worked at Ochsner Medical Center and retired from Charity Hospital in New Orleans in 1971. COCKERHAM, WALDO SIDNEY A resident of McComb, Miss., he died Monday, Aug. 18, 1997, at Laurel Wood Manor, Laurel, Miss. He was 87, born Jan. 23, 1911, in Denham Springs. He served on the staffs of former Louisiana Govs. Richard Leche, Earl K. Long and Jimmie H. Davis. He was a former member of Louisiana State Police, later developed a section of real estate known as Cockerham Acres in Denham Springs and was instrumental in other real estate ventures. In 1975, he moved from his Denham Springs quarterhorse farm, "Star Bar Stock Farm," to the ranch he owned and operated in McComb until his death.
