He was born May 5, 1935, in Bear Island, son of the late Sim and Octavia Berthelot Picou. Surviving are his wife, two sons and a daughter-in-law, two daughters and sons-in-law, stepson and stepdaughter-in-law, stepdaughter, 26 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; four brothers, a sister, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Charlotte Richardson; son, Craig Picou; first wife, Patricia Ann Picou; and brother, Harold Picou. Mr. Picou, known as “The Flower Man,” will be remembered for his talent with his flowers and love for the community. Friends were received Friday at Harry McKneely and Son Funeral Home, Hammond. Visitation continued Saturday at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church, Whitehall, from 9 a.m. until Mass at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Jason Palermo officiating.
