POWELL, DOROTHY

Dorothy Powell 85 of Baton Rouge died Saturday, May 30, 2009.  She was born 
Nov 9, 1923 in Mount Herman and was a retired registered nurse.  She married 
her husband Carl in 1946 after finishing nurses training at McComb City 
Hospital.  Dot was one of 10 children.

Visitation was held at Greenoaks Funeral Home in Baton Rouge on Wednesday, 
June 3, 2009 until the service.

Two sons and a daughter-in-law, a daughter and son-in-law, two brothers, a 
sister, and a sister-in-law survive her.

Preceding her in death was her husband, Carl Powell; her parents, Arthur and 
Minnie Fontenberry; a daughter, Jamie Powell; a brother, James Fontenberry; 
three sisters, Eran Pocorello of Baton Rouge, Jean Newman of Greensburg, and 
Ginger Ford of Hammond.

The family's heartfelt thanks go to the loving employees of The Retirement 
Center and Life Source Hospice of Baton Rouge. 

"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the 
faith."
