REEVES, JOSEPH S. “JOE”

"The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God my strength, 
in whom I will trust." Psalm 18:2. 

Joseph S. “Joe” Reeves 67 died Sunday, May 10, 2009 at his home in Baton 
Rouge.  He was born on Nov 1, 1941 in McComb, MS and was a charter member of 
Broadmoor Baptist Church and a member for 52 years.  He was an avid hunter and 
was blessed to have hunted all over the world, including Africa, where he felt 
the happiest and most peaceful. He was a lifetime member of the Safari Club 
International, National Rifle Association, the rifle association's Golden 
Eagles and Hunters Run Gun Club. His career in heavy equipment sales spanned 
more than 47 years. He was very successful in his career and was truly one of 
a kind! At the time of his death, he was employed with Doggett Machinery 
Services. He loved history, animals and hunting and had tremendous knowledge 
in these areas. He was a strong man who had a great love for his family and 
friends.

Visitation was held at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East in Baton Rouge on 
Thursday, May14, 2009 from 5 to 9 pm and resumed on Friday, May 15, 2009 at 
Broadmoor Baptist Church from 9:30 am until the religious services at 10:30 am 
with a graveside service at 2 pm at Hollywood Cemetery in McComb MS.

Two daughters and sons-in-law, a son, four grandchildren, two sisters and 
brothers-in-law, a stepdaughter, and two step-grandchildren survive him.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Joseph Sauls Reeves and Shirley 
Elizabeth Barrett Reeves; and his wife, Dura Reeves.
