REYNOLDS, JOHN LEVY “UNCLE PETE”

John Levy “Uncle Pete' Reynolds 73 of Ringgold, GA died Thursday, December 2, 
2010.  He was a former resident of French Settlement.  He was born on May 31, 
1937 in Jonesville and retired from Monroe Corp.  He attended Carpenter's 
Cowboy Church in Fort Oglethorpe, GA and was a member of the first Baptist 
Church in French Settlement.  He was also an avid singer and comedian who 
toured with Porter Wagner, performed at the Grand Ole Opry and was inducted 
into the Georgia Country Music Hall of Fame, a member of the Ozark Jubilee in 
Eureka Springs, AK.  He also toured with Gov. Jimmie Davis.  Mr. Reynolds was 
a lifelong LSU Tiger fan, a US Army Veteran having served with the 769th 
Battalion where he was awarded first place in the 4th Armored Division as a 
comedian and second place in the talent contest.  He was also an artist for 
the post newspaper at Fort Polk.  

Visitation was held at First Baptist Church of French Settlement on Tuesday, 
December 7, 2010 and resumed on Wednesday, December 8, 2010 until the funeral 
service with interment following in Colyell Baptist Church Cemetery.

He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, a daughter and son-in-law, two 
sons and a daughter-in-law, a brother and sister-in-law, eight grandchildren, 
and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Jesse and Lovie Nations Reynolds; a 
son, Jeffery Wayne Reynolds; two sisters and two brothers.
Arrangements were provided by Seale Funeral Home in Denham Springs.
