RODRIGUEZ, IONE MARY ALLAIN

Ione Mary Allain Rodriguez, 94 died Thursday, Oct 22, 2009 at Sherwood Manor.  
She was a longtime resident of Port Allen and was born Oct 1, 1915 in 
Cinclare.  Many knew her as “Cafeteria Lady” from her work at Holy Family 
School from 1959 to 1978,  She was a past member of Ladies Altar Society Local 
Pokeno Group

Visitation was held at Wilbert Funeral Home in Port Allen on Friday Oct 23, 
2009.  A mass of Christian burial was held at St John the Baptist Catholic 
Church in Brusly on Saturday, Oct 24, 2009 with interment in the church 
cemetery.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law; two daughters and sons-in-law; 
13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and two expected great-great-
grandchildren; a sister; and a brother.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Henry J. Rodriguez; her parents, 
Augustin “Gus” Allain and Bertha Thibodaux Allain; three brothers, 
John “Tubby” Allain, Ory Allain, and Cecil “C-boy” Allain; and a special 
friend Jessie Sellers.
