ROSE, NORMA WESTER

Norma Wester Rose 85 of Lake Charles died Saturday, December 4, 2010 at her 
daughter's home.  She was born and lived most of her life in Baton Rouge.  She 
and her husband returned to his childhood home in Watson where the lived their 
retirement years.  She worked as a key punch operator for Ethyl Corp during 
her younger years and worked as a secretary for many years for the East Baton 
Rouge Parish Clerk of Court Mortgage Office from which she retired.  Mrs. Rose 
was an admirable woman of her generation, a Christian woman of faith with an 
overwhelming love for her family and a devotion to serving the Lord.  She was 
a member of Oak Park United Methodist Church and Wesley United Methodist 
Church where she was a member of both church choirs.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, December 7, 2010 in the Johnson Funeral 
Home chapel with Graveside services on Wednesday,  December 8, 2010 where in 
Live Oak United Methodist Church Cemetery in Watson.

She was survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, a son and daughter-in-law, 
five grandchildren, a grandson-in-law, a granddaughter-in-law, two great-
grandchildren, and a sister and brother-in-law, 
 
Preceding her in death by her husband, Robert Preston Rose; and a brother, 
Sidney Marion Peterson.

Memorial donations were requested to be made to Wesley United Methodist Church 
in Sulpher or Live Oak United Methodist Church in Watson.
