He was a Veteran of the US Army, Engineering Division and served in World War II. Visitation was held at Niland’s Funeral Home, New Roads on Friday Sept 18, 2009. Services were held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in New Roads with entombment in St. Mary’s Mausoleum in New Roads. Four daughters, a brother, 17 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren survive him. Preceding him in death were his wife, Winnie Fabre Roy; a daughter, Mickey Sweat; and his parents, George and Clementine Roy.
