He was a native of Bon Secaur, AL and a resident of Livingston. He was retired from working as Production Manager of the Livingston Parish News with 31 years of service. He was a member of Red Oak Baptist Church, and served as Deacon and Sunday School teacher in Louisiana and Alabama. His favorite pastimes were fishing, hunting, and camping. His three greatest loves in life were God, family and work. Visitation was held at Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs on Tuesday Aug 4, 2009 and resumed Wednesday Aug 5, 2009 at Vernant Park Baptist Church, Magnolia, Ala. Burial was in Vernant Park Baptist Church Cemetery, Magnolia, Ala. He is survived by his wife of 57 years; a daughter and son-in-law; two sons and daughters-in-law; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sanford and Bertha Nell Vinnie Allen Sherman; brothers, Farish, Thomas, and Garvin Sherman; and sisters, Lucille Sherman and Mary Glenn Parker.
