SHOPTAUGH, JAMES DUPUY “JIM”

James Dupuy “Jim” Shoptaugh 78 of Dugspur VA died Thursday, July 8, 2010.  He 
was born Feb 14, 1932 in Baton Rouge and was a graduate of University High and 
LSU, and lived, worked and served most of his life in Baton Rouge.  He was a 
member of First United Methodist Church in Denham Springs, The American 
Legion, The Gideons and had served in the US Marines.

A graveside service was held Friday, July 16, 2010 at the Huff Cemetery in 
Dugsphur.  The Hillsville V.F.W. Post 1115 conducted military Rites and 
Vaughin-Guynn-McGrady Chapel of Hillsville, VA, handled the arrangements.

His wife, a daughter, three sons and daughters-in-law, three stepchildren and 
their spouses, a sister, a brother, 16 grandchildren, and six great-
grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews and other family members survive 
him.

His parents, Ruth Dupuy Shoptough and John R. Shoptough, Sr, preceded him in 
death.
