J. T. J. Simmons, 80 of Jayess MS and a native of Tylertown, MS died Sept 5, 2009 at the Carpenter House in Baton Rouge. He received the Numerous Service Distinction Award from LSU and enjoyed farming. He was the most dedicated Ole Miss fan to work at LSU. Visitation was held at Hartman-Hughes Funeral Home, Tylertown on Tuesday and at Mesa Baptist Church, Tylertown on Wednesday. Interment was in Rushing Cemetery, Tylertown. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, a daughter and son-in-law, three sons and two daughters-in-law, his faithful Pomeranian “Lil Red”, two sisters, two brothers, 15 grandchildren, and 31 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Offie Benjamin Sr. and Mary Jane Lee Simmons Pailette; three brothers, Wallace Simmons, Elmer Simmons and Jessie Simmons; a sister, Beatrice Simmons Graves; a daughter, Mary Simmons Pailette; a son-in-law, Bobby Pailette; and grandson Richard Lee Simmons.
