Bill Simmons Jr. 
 
Bill Simmons Jr., a native of Laurel, Miss., and resident of Zachary, died at 
home Sunday, April 10, 2011, at age 73. He was retired after working for 
Chevron for more than 25 years. 

Visitation was at Charlet Funeral Home Inc. in Zachary on Tuesday and 
Wednesday until service, conducted by Dr. B.H. Brantley and Dr. Reggie 
Bridges. Graveside service will be in Chenal Cemetery, Jarreau. 

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, a daughter and son-in-law, two sons 
and a daughter-in-law, seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and 
numerous nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his father, William M. Simmons Sr.; mother, Alatha 
Williams Simmons; brother, Marvin LeRoy Simmons Sr.; and sister, Francis 
Charlene Simmons Smith.  

He was a veteran of the Air Force. He was a member of the Zachary First 
Baptist Church and enjoyed traveling and camping. In lieu of flowers, 
donations may be made to the Zachary First Baptist Church Youth Building Fund.
