Mr. Simpson was a US Navy veteran, having served in the invasion of Iwo Jima and Okinawa. On Iwo Jima he was honored to witness the rising of the American flag. He was a member of Colyell Baptist Church, a mason for 55 years, a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was retired and a member of Operators Local 406. Visitation was held at Colyell Baptist Church, Colyell with internment in Colyell Cemetery. He is survived by: two daughters and two sons-in-law; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a sister and brother-in-law.
