He was a native of Baton Rouge and was retired from Kaiser Aluminum of Baton Rouge. He was a member of Local 198. He was a great lover of fishing, photography, billiards, his family and his beloved canine friend, Jesse. A memorial will be held at River of Life Baptist Church in Port Vincent on Friday, May 22, 2009 from 7 pm until 9 pm. His wife, a daughter, two sons, two stepsons, seven grandchildren, a great- grandchild, three step grandchildren, and a brother survive him. Preceding him in death was his mother, Vera Slocum; his father, Wilford Slocum; a son, Donnie Slocum; and a stepson, Roy Sanchez.
