Allen "Rabbit" Stewart Sr., 97, a resident of Denham Springs, departed this 
life Saturday, July 12, 2008, at his home. Visiting was held at MJR Friendly 
Service Funeral Home Inc., 7803 Florida Blvd., Denham Springs, on Friday, July 
18. Religious service at Midway Baptist Church, 1006 Hatchell Lane, Denham 
Springs, on Saturday, July 19, at 11 a.m., conducted by Platter Gooden, 
pastor. Interment in Plainview Cemetery, Denham Springs. Survived by his 
children, Betty Poole, of Baton Rouge, Mary Grayer Smith, John Allen Stewart, 
Allen Stewart Jr., Charles Stewart and Gralen Stewart, all of Denham Springs, 
and Alfred Stewart, of Amite; a sister, Beulah Brooks, of Baton Rouge; 
grandchildren, including devoted granddaughter, Phileene Carter, of Denham 
Springs; great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and a host of other 
relatives and friends.
