He was 77, a resident of Denham Springs and native of Many. Visitation was at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway on Wednesday until service, conducted by the Rev. Paul Yi. Burial was in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. He served in the Navy during the Korean War. He is survived by his wife, four sons and a daugher-in-law, four daughters and three sons-in-law, Rhonda Daigle and husband James, Janis Van Veckhoven, Janine Carlisle and husband Brent, and Marsha Woodcock and husband Dale; 18 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, Alphonse Van Veckhoven; parents, James T. Van Veckhoven Sr. and Mary P. Werner; and daughter, Sharon Van Veckhoven McNeely. Special thanks to Dr. Ratcliff, Dr. Tullis, Dr. Jones, nurses on fifth floor and ICU at Ochsner Medical Center and the entire staff of The Carpenter House of St. Joseph Hospice.
