He was a retired HVAC business owner. He was also a Veteran of World War II serving in the US Army’s 82nd Airborne Division, he received the bronze Star and purple heart. Visitation was at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, Baton Rouge and graveside services were held at Greenoaks Memorial Park, with burial following. Surviving him are his wife, daughter, 11 grandchildren and seven great- grandchildren. His mother Annie Ward Walsh, his father David E. Ward Sr., two brothers, David E. Ward Jr., and Henry P. Ward; a daughter, Sandra J. Ward; and a granddaughter, Stephanie M. Edwards, preceded him in death. Mr. Ward started the family business in 1050. The business is still serving the community today, and will continue into the future, being run by his wife, son and daughter and her life partner.
