She was a retired Licensed Practical Nurse and a native of Bogalusa. She was a volunteer counselor at Rape Crisis Center, a contributing writer for the West Side Journal, an avid bowler, floral arranger and gardener. Visitation was held at Wilbert Funeral Home in Port Allen on Friday, Oct 16, 2009 and resumed on Saturday, Oct 17, 2009 until the celebration of Mickey’s life at 10 am, with entombment in Greenoaks Memorial Mausoleum. Her husband of 58 years, four sons and three daughters-in-law, a daughter and son-in-law, a sister, five grandchildren, a former granddaughter-in-law, five great-grandchildren, and an expected great-grandchild survives her. Preceding her in death were a son, Richard Allen Wilson; her parents, Donnie F. Blackwell and Arzella Penton Fernandez; and two sisters, Dorothy Galat and Dora Sue Daussat.
