Charles Ephriam Reid was instrumental in beginning churches in Livingston Parish. This headstone was bought and paid for in 1938 by Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Until that time he had a small marker for a gravestone that simply read C.E.R. As thoughtful as the headstone is as a present for their pastor, it was bought 17 years after his death. The headstone reads that he was 82 years old. He was not 82 when he died, he was 80.
