Coody - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Madison Journal, November 1966 TALLULAH - Funeral Services for Mrs. Vallie L. Coody, age 64, of Tallulah, were held at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Crothers-Glenwood with Rev. Dennis Relaford officiating. Burial followed at Silver Cross Cemetery in Tallulah under the direction of Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home. She died Monday at R.A. Conway Medical Center in Monroe, after a sudden illness. Mrs. Coody was born in Port Necessity and lived in Tallulah for 50 years. She was a cashier and a member of Parkview Baptist Church of Tallulah. Survivors include: two sons, William L. "Bill" Coody of Kingsland, GA and Robert O. Coody of Delta; five daughters, Edna Hearn of Redwood, Miss., Becky Deckard, Renae Bolton, Brenda Henley, and Kitty Coody all of Tallulah; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren; mother, Josephine Sullivan of Tallulah; two brothers, Bennie Lisonbee of Laurel, Miss., and Johnny Lisonbee of Baker, Fla.; eight sisters, Louise Faulkner, Verda Still, and Bobbie Vining of Tallulah, Rosalie Butler of Swartz, Marie Ray of Bastrop, Betty Diggs of Vicksburg, Mary Ann Wilmore of Las Vegas, Nev., and Billie Creed of Monroe. Pallbearers were: Charles Vining III, Andy Worley Jr., Wesley Butler, Eddie Hattaway, David Faulkner and Ray Thornton.
