Winsor Richard Ford and Joan Hannah Ford - Madison Parish, Louisiana 
From Madison Journal, December 2, 1938
Winsor Ford, 26, and his two year old daughter, both died here within a few days of each 
other of burns they received when gasoline ignited and caught fire in a trailer in which 
they were living near the Two-Mile Inn east of town. Ford died Friday and was buried 
Saturday in the Silver Cross Cemetery. The baby died Monday and was buried Tuesday. Mrs. 
Ford, who was in the trailer at the time of the fire, was not seriously burned, and left 
Wednesday with her father who came to Tallulah after the accident. They went to her 
father's home in White Castle, Tennessee.
When the gasoline first took fire, Ford escaped without serious burns, but as soon as he 
got out he realized that the baby was still in the trailer and went back into the trailer 
to rescue her. It was during the rescue attempt that he and the baby received their serious 
burns. Ford has been living near Tallulah for some time and had been employed as an aviator 
dusting cotton during the season.
