"Toad" Hopkins, - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Monroe Morning World, September 19, 1975 TALLULAH - Felix I. "Toad" Hopkins, 83, of Tallulah died Thursday in the Mercy Hospital in Vicksburg, Miss. after a long illness. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in the First Baptist Church of Tallulah with the Rev. Crawford Williams and the Rev. Eddie Broadhead officiating. Burial will be in the Providence Memorial Park Cemetery in Tallulah under the direction of Crothers Funeral Home of Tallulah. He was a native of Wilkinson County Miss. and a resident of Madison Parish since 1929. He was a farmer and a member of the Montrose Baptist Church. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Louise Hopkins of Tallulah; his mother, Mrs. Carrie Hopkins of Tallulah; two sons, Melvin Hopkins and Felix I. Hopkins Jr., both of Tallulah; three daughters, Mrs. Lynell Laird and Miss Kayren Hopkins, both of Tallulah and Mrs. Joy Hopkins of Los Angels, Calif.; five brothers, Charlie Hopkins and George Hopkins, both of Tallulah, Bill Hopkins of Houston, Tex., Ernest Hopkins of Baton Rouge and Rhada Hopkins of Vicksburg, Miss.; six sisters, Mrs. Aline Powers of Tallulah, Mrs. Minnie Collins of Monroe, Mrs. Josephine Kapke of Monterey, Mrs. Fannie Tyler and Mrs. Mary Bowen, both of Jackson, Miss. and Mrs. Katie Frey of Newton, N. C.; and seven grandchildren. Pallbearers will be nephews. The family requested that memorials be sent to the Cancer Memorial Fund or the church of the givers' choice.
