Hopkins - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Monroe Morning World, January 30, 1974 TALLULAH - Funeral services for William I. Hopkins, 91, of Tallulah, will be today at 3 p.m. at the First Baptist Church here with the Rev. Crawford Williams and Herman Savoy officiating. Burial will be in the Providence Memorial Park Cemetery under direction of Crothers Funeral Home of Tallulah. Mr. Hopkins died Wednesday at the Madison Parish Hospital here following a lengthy illness.He was a native of Roxie, Miss., and a resident of Madison Parish for 46 years; He was a retired farmer and member of the Methodist Church. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Carrie Bunch Hopkins, Tallulah; six sons, George Hopkins, Felix Hopkins and Charlie Hopkins, all of Tallulah, Ernest Hopkins. Baton Rouge, William L. Hopkins, Transylvania, and Rhada Hopkins, Vicksburg, Miss.; six daughters, Mrs. Aline Powers, Tallulah, Mrs. Minnie Collins, Monroe, Mrs. Fannie Mae Tyler and Mrs. Mary Ellen Bowen, both of Jackson, Miss., Mrs. Katie Frey, Newton, N. C., and Mrs. Josephine Kapke, Monterey, La.; a sister, Mrs. Eula Cordell, Houston, Tex.; a brother, Finley Hopkins, Zachary; 54 grandchildren, 47 great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Warren Hopkins, Melvin Hopkins, Marc Frey, Andrew Powers, Johnny Hopkins and David Collins, all grandsons of Mr. Hopkins. Other grandsons will be honorary pallbearers.
