Rites were led by the Rev Crawford Williams and burial was in Providence Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Crothers Funeral Home. Mr. Land died Saturday at Richland Parish Hospital in Delhi after a long illness. A native of Richland Parish, Mr. Land had lived in Madison Parish for 50 years. He owned and operated a grocery store in Waverly before retirement. Ha was a member of the Baptist church. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Edna Land, Tendal; four sisters, Gushen Land, Tallulah, Mrs. Sallie Legget, San Bruno, Calif., Mrs. Floree Pollard, Clarksdale. Miss., and Mrs. Eula Wilkins, Tallulah, and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Johnny Wilkins, Randy Horn, Ken Newton, Tilford Watts, Reid Foster and Jimmie Wilkins.
