She was educated in Tallulah where she was an honor student , beauty queen, and a cheerleader for Tallulah High School. She was first runner-up in the Miss Louisiana pageant. She attended Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, and graduated from Northeast State University in Monroe. She was employed by Trans World Airlines as an international flight attendant. She was awarded a law degree from Tulane University in New Orleans, and was employed by Amoco Oil Company. Linda later moved to Carrollton, GA where she also practiced law. Linda was married to Allan Macki. They had no children. She died of breast cancer the same month in which her paternal grandmother, Faye Meadows Leoty passed away. She died August 1, 1988 and is buried in Memorial Park Cemetery in Tallulah.
