All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Howard Spencer Sevier - Madison Parish, Louisiana Howard Spencer Sevier was born February 19, 1924 to Senator Andrew Leonard Sevier, Sr. and Irene Jordan Sevier. He was educated in Tallulah and also at Marion Military Institute in Marion, GA. He received his college degree in business and law from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, LA. He married Helen Mae Leoty. They had two adopted children: Glenna Sevier DiBenedetto of Kenner, LA and Robert Spencer Sevier. Mr. Sevier was a farmer and businessman, and managed a General Motors dealership, Sevier Chevrolet-Buick-Pontiac- Oldsmobile in Tallulah. He was on the Board of Directors for Tallulah State Bank and was a member of the First Methodist Church of Tallulah. Howard died of complications from pneumonia on March 10, 1980. His funeral was at the First Methodist Church on March 11, 1980 was widely attended by family, friends and residents of Tallulah.
