Bastrop Daily Enterprise - May 21st  2008
Funeral services for Bessie Darleene Tharpe Hale, 66, of Bastrop will be held 
at 4 p.m. Thursday, May 22, 2008 at the chapel of Golden Funeral Home. 
Interment will follow in Bonita Road Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will 
be held from 5-9 p.m. Wednesday at Goldens.

Mrs. Hale, a homemaker, passed away Tuesday, May 20, 2008 at her residence. She 
was a member of Bonita Road Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Hale; son, Arnold Wade Hale; 
father, Gus Tharpe; mother, Pauline McGowin Hughes; and brother, Clifton G. 
Bryant.

 
 
She is survived by three sons, Arnold David Hale and fiancé, Amanda Emmanuel of 
Bastrop, Donald Glen Hale and wife Brenda of Bastrop, and Preston Emerson of 
Pine Bluff, Ark.; three sisters, Dorothy Middlebrooks of Beekman, Lodie Craig 
of Bastrop, and Alice Hinton of Bastrop; six grandchildren, Natasha Michelle 
Hale, Whitney Nicole Hale, Erica Hale, Donald Christopher Hale, Sharon Lynn 
Emerson, and Nick Owen Emerson; one great grandchild, Brooklyn Hale; several 
nieces and nephews; and long-time friends, Nellie May and Roger May.
